With 28 years of construction experience Tim serves as both a site manager and finish carpenter for Associated Housewrights. He has earned NARI Certified Lead Carpenter status. Before moving to the Madison area in 2001 Tim and his wife lived near Black River Falls where he ran his own construction firm for 23 years. They now own an Arts and Crafts bungalow in a Stoughton neighborhood just named to the National Historic Registry. Tim is passionate about historic architecture and spends evenings and weekends carefully renovating the 85-year-old home. “Some people restore cars,” he says. “I restore houses.”
Tom started in construction building cement septic tanks but didn’t like the fact that he could never see his work. When he switched to remodeling he spent several years specializing in barn remodeling and restoration, which gave him plenty of opportunities to drive around and view completed projects. He has worked with Associated Housewrights for six years as a finish carpenter, and was named a NARI Certified Lead Carpenter. Tom has owned six different homes and worked on them all, including a home he built. He lives in New Glaurus with his wife, Susan, and teenage sons, Mason and Logan. Tom enjoys fishing and golfing, but right now attending his sons’ basketball and golf matches keeps him busy.
When Mike was born his father had the family home raised up for foundation work, so it was inevitable that Mike became interested in construction. He built a couple of houses with his father, and constructed a 30 foot sailboat with friends while still in high school. His construction resume includes work for a company that built designer furniture out of recycled materials from older homes, and a firm that specialized in green building, including passive solar homes. Mike has been with Associated Housewrights since 2002, and specializes in trim and finish work. He was recently named a Certified Lead Carpenter by NARI. In his free time he enjoys playing the guitar, oil painting, and reading. Mike shares his home with his daughter, who attends college in Madison.
